Özersay Questions CTP and Parliament Over Waste Credit Amnesty

People's Party (HP) leader Kudret Özersay has called on the Republican Assembly and the main opposition Republican Turkish Party (CTP) to clarify certain issues regarding the “amnesty related to waste credits” recently passed by a parliamentary committee.

In a written statement, Özersay claimed that a CTP MP requested the suspension of audio recording during the committee meeting and insisted that no minutes be taken. He added that the Central Bank Governor asked for the recording to resume and openly stated to the committee members that the regulation technically amounted to an amnesty.
Despite this, Özersay noted that both the government and opposition unanimously approved the temporary article, which, he said, was not included in the original bill submitted by the Council of Ministers.
He questioned who advocated for this temporary article during the period when the recording was stopped, why no minutes were recorded, and why the parliamentary recordings were paused.
Özersay also alleged irregular credit loans were given to Koop Süt and Zirai Levazım, adding that these loans have been legally pursued and are under police investigation.
He warned, “If you legalize these loans through the temporary article, the police investigation loses its meaning!” and emphasized that the truth will come to light sooner or later.
