Speaking during the launch of the “Fibre Transformation Protocol,” Yılmaz highlighted the potential benefits of the fibre-optic project for the island’s infrastructure. He said Turkey is open to cooperation on equal terms with South Cyprus, especially in the field of infrastructure, but criticised the Greek Cypriot side for lacking the same level of sincerity.

Referring to the recent arrests in the south, Yılmaz said, “The necessary responses will be made. This issue will be addressed in New York.” He reiterated Turkey’s commitment to pursuing equitable collaboration while standing firm on matters of principle.
