Bıçaklı: Fuel Price Hikes Are Unacceptable

Turk-Sen President Arslan Bıçaklı has slammed the recent fuel price hikes, calling them unacceptable and urging the government to reverse the decision.

In a written statement, Bıçaklı warned that rising fuel prices impact not only transportation costs but also the prices of all consumer goods, further eroding the purchasing power of low-income groups.
“Increases meant to offset the cost of living for minimum wage earners, public sector employees, and pensioners have effectively been cancelled before they were even implemented,” he said. “Fuel price hikes directly affect the cost of all goods, undermining the purchasing power of broad segments of society.”
Bıçaklı criticized the government for continuing to raise fuel prices to cover budget deficits, despite a global decline in oil prices. He called on authorities to reconsider and withdraw the decision immediately.
