Christodoulou appeared before the court following his arrest on charges of illegal drug possession and violating the Pharmacy and Poisons Law. Police officer Murat Kermeoğlu testified that on 16 July 2025, at around 5:00 PM, a patrol unit from the Crime Prevention Department of the Nicosia Police observed a suspiciously parked vehicle on a dirt area north of the fairgrounds.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered various items believed to be associated with drug use and trafficking. These included devices suspected of containing drug residue, several quantities of different drugs, and prescription medication not legally held. The substances were confiscated as evidence, and the suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

Police told the court that the investigation is ongoing. The seized items will be sent for forensic analysis, while further witness statements are expected to be collected. Authorities are also reviewing surveillance footage in connection with the incident.

After reviewing the evidence presented, Judge Zehra Yalkut Bilgeç ruled that Christodoulou be remanded in custody for one day to allow police to continue their inquiries.
