Ercan Airport Sees Passenger Numbers Surge by Nearly 19% in Six Months

Ercan Airport hosted over 2.59 million passengers and more than 17,000 flights in the first half of 2025, marking significant growth compared to the same period last year. According to figures released by T&T Airport Operations, passenger traffic rose by 18.73%, while aircraft movements increased by 23.22% between January and June.

As the largest airport on the island of Cyprus by area and the main gateway to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ercan continues to stand out with its service quality and passenger comfort. Eco-friendly operations and energy-efficient systems at the terminal also contribute to its growing appeal.
In the first half of 2024, Ercan Airport recorded 2,181,947 passengers and 14,069 flights. These numbers climbed to 2,590,576 passengers and 17,336 flights during the same period in 2025, reflecting the airport’s ongoing upward trajectory.
