26-Year-Old Worker Seriously Injured in Fall
A 26-year-old worker, Nurjan Mia, was seriously injured after falling from the roof of a building in the Haspolat Heavy Industry Zone. The accident occurred when a panel blown by strong wind struck Mia, causing him to lose his balance and fall.
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, the incident took place around 5:00 PM on 23 July 2025 at an auto spare parts business operating in the area. Mia was reportedly installing sandwich panels on the roof when he was hit by a wind-blown panel and fell approximately 4.90 metres to the ground.
The injured worker was taken by ambulance to Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, where he remains under observation.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
