TRNC Advances Health Tourism with International Meetings: 40 Delegates from 12 Countries Attended

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) continues to promote its potential in health tourism internationally. The international meeting titled "Competitive Advantages of Northern Cyprus in Health Tourism," held by the Cyprus Healthcare Travel Council under the auspices of the Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, with support from the Ministry of Health and Turkish Airlines, was held at the Vuni Palace Hotel.
40 Delegates from 12 Countries Attended
The meeting, attended by health tourism professionals from 12 countries, included Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu; Minister of Health Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek; President of the Cyprus Healthcare Travel Council and Member of Parliament Dr. Ahmet Savaşan; President of the Turkish Health Tourism Development Council Dr. Köksal Holoğlu; President of KITSAB Orhan Tolun; President of the Association of Freelance Physicians Dr. Remzi Gardiyanoğlu; President of the Association of Private Hospitals Hayat İzel; President of the Association of Reproductive Medicine Assoc. Prof. Dr. Savaş Özyiğit, Oscar Group Chairman Hüseyin Oskar, CEO İbrahim Bağman, Turkish Airlines Cyprus Director Pınar Ayvaz Arıkan, Romatem Healthcare Group and various university hospital executives, and 40 delegates from 12 countries.
Robotic Rehabilitation and International Service Quality were on the agenda
The meeting addressed topics such as the advantages offered by robotic rehabilitation and physical therapy services in Northern Cyprus, the high success rates in reproductive medicine, the internationally recognized service capacity of university hospitals, and the privileges offered by Turkish Airlines to health tourists. Participating countries included Türkiye, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Uzbekistan, Georgia, Poland, Croatia, India, Romania, Italy, Russia, Kosovo, and the UK.
Fikri Ataoğlu: We Are Contributing to Global Health Tourism
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Minister Fikri Ataoğlu stated that the TRNC's development in health tourism has gained momentum since 2015. Ataoğlu reminded that the TRNC assumed the presidency of the Global Healthcare Travel Council, which has 56 member countries, last year, emphasizing that the work carried out during this period has contributed not only to Northern Cyprus but also to global health tourism. Ataoğlu also congratulated Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, who pioneered the establishment of the first accessible hotel and robotic rehabilitation center in the country, Hüseyin Oskar, and Dr. Köksal Holoğlu, who implemented this investment.
Hakan Dinçyürek: 2025 Will Be the Year of Strengthening Healthcare Investments
Health Minister Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek stated that 2025 will be a year of strengthening healthcare investments, stating that the ministry is taking the necessary steps, both at the legislative and practical levels, for the development of health tourism and providing full support to this area.
Ahmet Savaşan: We are Launching a Digital Promotion Initiative in 20 Countries
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan stated that the Cyprus Healthcare Travel Council is the most comprehensive organization representing the health and tourism sectors on the island. Savaşan announced that 2025 has been declared the year of digital promotion and marketing, and that promotional activities will be carried out in 20 countries in areas such as robotic physical therapy, in vitro fertilization, plastic surgery, and cardiology.
Turkish Airlines Offers Special Flight Opportunities for Health Tourists
Turkish Airlines TRNC Director Pınar Ayvaz Arıkan announced that, in collaboration with the Cyprus Healthcare Travel Council, flights are being offered with special conditions and discounted fares for tourists traveling to the TRNC to receive healthcare services.
Köksal Holoğlu: TRNC-Türkiye Cooperation Inspires the Sector
Dr. Köksal Holoğlu, President of the Turkish Health Tourism Development Council, also emphasized the importance of cooperation with the TRNC for health tourism. Holoğlu stated that Romatem Health Group's investments in the robotic physical therapy center and accessible hotel, jointly with Oscar Group, have inspired the sector in Northern Cyprus, and thanked all officials who supported the project.
