Israeli Murder Suspect Arrested in Kyrenia

Israeli citizen Daniel Yehonatan Zarug, wanted in Israel for multiple serious crimes including murder and attempted murder, has been arrested in Kyrenia after entering the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on a fake passport.

Police determined that Zarug used a Spanish passport under the name “Andros Garcia” to cross into the country via the Metehan checkpoint. He was brought before the Nicosia District Court on charges of forgery and producing false official documents.
A forensic examination confirmed the passport was counterfeit, and the court ordered his detention for a further two days while the investigation continues.
The Official Gazette also announced yesterday that Zarug has been officially declared a “prohibited immigrant.”
