Two Turkish Cypriots Accused of Assisting Arrested Greek Cypriots Remanded for Three Days

A civil servant identified as N.Ö. and a real estate agent have been remanded in custody for three days on suspicion of providing documents and maps to five Greek Cypriots accused of illegally collecting information on Greek Cypriot-owned properties in Northern Cyprus.

The arrests come as part of an ongoing investigation that began on 19 July, when five Greek Cypriots allegedly entered the TRNC via the Akyar crossing without immigration checks, trespassing into a military restricted zone. Maps, title deeds and various documents were reportedly found in their vehicle.
Authorities said the investigation is being expanded, with strong suspicions that the two Turkish Cypriot suspects supplied the Greek Cypriots with sensitive property-related documents.
