According to Alithia, the Nicosia Criminal Court in the south granted the adjournment on Tuesday following a request from state prosecutor Anna Mattheu, who cited a recent ECHR decision that could significantly impact the case.

Mattheu reportedly told the court she had learned of the ruling just a day prior and stressed that it could not be ignored.

Court President Nikolas Georgiades accepted the prosecution’s request, stating that the court could not overlook the development either.

Kunzel’s lawyer, Rafaella Chrysostomou, did not object to the postponement, saying she would examine the ruling and prepare the defence accordingly.
