KIB-TEK: Power Outage Fault to Be Fully Resolved by Wednesday

Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) Director General Dalman Aydın announced that the fault at the Güneşköy Transformer Station, which caused a nationwide power outage, has been repaired. However, he said short power cuts could continue until Wednesday due to an ongoing issue at one of the thermal power plant units.

Speaking to BRT, Aydın said the problem at the transformer station had been fixed, but one of the thermal plant units remained out of service, leading to occasional short-term outages. He explained that repairs to the unit could only begin after it had cooled down, and the process was expected to be completed by Wednesday.
Until the fault is fully resolved, Aydın said, brief power cuts would continue at certain times of the day. He added that work was underway to prepare a report on the incidents, which would be shared with the public in the coming days.
