17 Fires Cause ₺691,500 in Damages in One Week
The Police Press Office reported that between 4 and 10 August, 17 fires and 24 special service incidents occurred across Northern Cyprus, with the fires causing an estimated ₺691,500 in damages.
The causes of the fires included electrical short circuits, discarded cigarette butts, sparks from power lines coming into contact due to wind, and deliberate arson.
Special service incidents involved fire prevention measures, rescuing people trapped in elevators, freeing cats stuck on rooftops or in vehicle engine compartments, rescuing a dog that had fallen into a well, ensuring road safety, and transporting deceased individuals to hospital for judicial investigation.
