Koop-Sen Says Strike Will Continue Despite Salary Announcement

Mehmetali Güröz, President of the Cooperative Workers’ Union (Koop-Sen), spoke to YENİDÜZEN following an announcement that salaries for employees in cooperative subsidiaries under the Deputy Prime Ministry, Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Ministry would be paid.

Güröz emphasized that ministry officials had not consulted the union and no agreement had been reached.
He confirmed that the strike would continue and announced that employees would gather in front of the Prime Ministry at 08:00 tomorrow. Güröz also highlighted the eight-point austerity measures, which significantly restrict employee rights, saying, “We have not discussed the impositions under these measures. The strike will end only when the eight-point imposition is withdrawn.”
