Ataoğlu: Cooperative Salaries Paid, Focus Shifts to Institutional Reform and Sustainability

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu announced that the overdue August salaries for employees at Koop-Süt, Zirai Levazım, and Binboğa have been deposited into their accounts.

Expressing regret over the delay, Ataoğlu emphasized that the government’s focus is not merely on paying salaries but on securing the future and sustainability of these institutions.
Ataoğlu dismissed claims of liquidation or privatization, stating, “These institutions belong to our people and producers. We will not only sustain them but also develop them, because our societal continuity depends on production and growth.” He highlighted that protecting employees’ rights and ensuring institutional sustainability remain top priorities, with reforms guided by principles such as “placing the right people in the right roles” and prioritizing technical staff in technical institutions.
The minister noted the historical success and profitability of these cooperatives, underlining that the administration is determined to restore them to their former strength while safeguarding public and communal interests over individual or sectional gains.
