Three Traffic Accidents: At Least One Child Injured

Three separate traffic accidents occurred on the Nicosia, Geçitkale–Tatlısu, and Kyrenia–Tatlısu main roads, leaving at least one child injured. Authorities determined that two of the drivers involved were under the influence of alcohol.

According to a police press release:
Kyrenia–Tatlısu Accident
Early this morning, Mehmet Beyazbayram (20) was driving vehicle JT 010 with a blood alcohol level of 71 mg. Approaching a bend, he lost control of the car due to inattention. The vehicle went off the road, hitting a traffic sign and steel barriers before rolling over and landing on its roof.
The injured driver was taken to Kyrenia Dr. Akçiçek Hospital for treatment.
Geçitkale–Tatlısu Accident
Yesterday at around 14:00, Eda Lezki Ceran (42) was driving vehicle ZVG 839 when she lost control on a bend and crossed into the opposite lane, colliding with a truck driven by Ali Özel (50) in vehicle RE 886.
The ZVG 839 driver, along with passengers Ela Nihal Ceran (11) and Neriman Lezki (70), were taken to Famagusta State Hospital. Neriman Lezki was treated in the surgical ward, while the other injured were treated in the emergency department for observation.
Nicosia Accident
Last night at around 22:00, Okan İş (26) was driving vehicle FP 109 with a blood alcohol level of 92 mg. He lost control on a bend, causing the vehicle to hit the curb and a concrete wall before stopping.
Both the driver and passenger Aybolek Jorayeva (29) were treated at Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital and later discharged. Legal action was initiated against Okan İş for driving under the influence and causing a traffic accident.
