Fire Breaks Out on Kyrenia Escape Road After Power Lines Contact Trees
A fire on the Kyrenia “escape road” threatened both residential areas and forested land. Civil Defense announced that the blaze was caused by electricity lines coming into contact with trees, and firefighting teams have brought it under control.
The fire, which broke out along the route known as the “escape road” in Kyrenia, caused panic due to its proximity to homes and forested areas. Police, Fire Department, Forestry Department, Civil Defense, and Kyrenia Municipality enforcement teams, along with military personnel and heavy machinery, responded to the emergency.
The fire damaged scrubland and pine trees along a streambed, as well as scattered waste and debris. Authorities confirmed that the fire is now under control.
