KIB-TEK: Report on Güneşköy Transformer Fire Will Be Shared Once Ready

The management of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) stated that the report on the fire at Güneşköy Transformer Station is not yet finalized and will be shared with the public once it is ready.

In a written statement addressing a report published by journalist Serdinç Maypa, KIB-TEK’s management said the news did not reflect the facts, disregarded ethical standards, and targeted both Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and the institution.
“UNFOUNDED REPORTS HARM THE INSTITUTION”
KIB-TEK emphasized that the reports were baseless, stating: “If they have a report, they are obliged to share it with the public. Those accusing us of lying are clearly trying to harm our institution by producing policies based on unfounded news.”
“WE WILL SHARE THE REPORT WITH THE PUBLIC ONCE IT IS READY”
The statement added that, taking into account previous sabotage incidents at the institution, all possibilities regarding the fire have been carefully evaluated and detailed investigations initiated. A team of experts from Turkey is conducting meticulous on-site work.
KIB-TEK confirmed that the expert team’s findings will be compiled into a report within three days and pledged, “We will continue to share our work openly and transparently with the public.”
