The suspect, Kağan Toysan, was arrested after allegedly accessing KIB-TEK’s system between May 31 and June 2. Police said Toysan verbally admitted to the offence but has not provided a written statement. His laptop, two mobile phones, two USB drives, and an internet modem were seized as evidence.

Police Sergeant Ali Gencer testified in court that while no immediate damage was detected in the system, the case was reported to police on August 15. He added that further investigations would examine whether similar breaches had occurred in other state institutions.

Toysan first appeared in court on August 16, when he was remanded for three days pending expert reports. Police requested an extension, stressing the need for a detailed technical investigation.

The court granted the request, ordering that Toysan remain in custody for an additional six days while the investigation continues.
