Üstel: “We Deliver Real Results, Not Dreams”

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, speaking at the inauguration of the Chamber of Civil Engineers’ Mehmet Göze Construction Materials and Mechanics Laboratory, underlined his government’s commitment to strengthening the economy of the TRNC, ensuring safe construction, and introducing a modern system of building inspection.

Üstel highlighted that the project, which had been on the agenda of successive governments for 20 years but never realized, was finally implemented under his leadership:
“Our goal is to move the TRNC economy to a stronger position. This project has been fought for over 30 years and discussed by governments for two decades, but only now has it been brought to life. We showed determination, we took responsibility, and today we are inaugurating it together.”
Reiterating his government’s resolve, Üstel declared:
“We deliver real results, not dreams. Our government, together with chambers and civil society, is determined to establish a modern system of building inspection. After 20 years of struggle, we took responsibility because it is our duty to take preventive measures.”
Üstel also thanked the Mayor of Famagusta for contributing to the establishment of the laboratory, describing the project as a model of solidarity between government, ministries, and civil society:
“We rise through solidarity. Natural disasters turn into catastrophes because of negligence, and we will never allow such negligence. We will take the necessary precautions as required by law, show no favoritism, and if new regulations are needed in construction inspection, I am giving chambers a free hand—let us change it together.”
