The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Secretary General Erkut Şahali appeared on the “Sabah Postası” program on Kıbrıs Postası TV, hosted and prepared by Gökhan Altıner.

Üstel Leaves Tatar Alone at Election Events

Commenting on the presidential elections, Şahali said the election process is progressing smoothly for CTP. He noted that the organized events had higher-than-expected participation. He also pointed out that during Tatar’s speeches, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel left before the speech started, leaving Tatar alone.

Şahali predicted that the elections will be completed in the first round. Based on field assessments and mathematical data, he claimed that the first round will result in favor of CTP President and presidential candidate Tufan Erhürman.

Turkey Will Respect the Will of the Turkish Cypriot People

On potential relations with Turkey, Şahali stated that Turkey respects the will of the Turkish Cypriot community and believes that relations will advance with an understanding of mutual benefit.

He also recalled that Turkey and CTP have previously worked together at both the presidential and government levels, emphasizing that Turkey will respect the will of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Erhürman Not an Unknown to Ankara

Finally, Şahali added that Erhürman is not an unknown for Ankara, as they have worked together before, and Turkey has no concerns regarding Erhürman.
