KSP Names Osman Zorba as Presidential Candidate
The Cyprus Socialist Party (KSP) announced that it will participate in the presidential elections with its own candidate, Osman Zorba. Zorba, a longtime KSP member and Central Committee official, was officially nominated by the party.
In a statement, the party highlighted that the people of Cyprus have long lived under the pressures of capital, the status quo, guarantor powers, and external interventions, turning the presidency into a position serving vested interests rather than the public. KSP emphasized that it is joining the elections to represent workers, youth, women, and the oppressed.
The party underlined that its candidate is neither a palace loyalist nor a puppet of foreign powers, standing instead with workers, employees, farmers, students, and oppressed women.
KSP added that the elections are not merely a ballot contest but an effort to establish a new line of resistance, empowering the people to take their fate into their own hands and advancing the struggle for a united, truly independent Cyprus achieved in peace.
