Üstel: Every Effort Against Fires Is a Breath for the Future
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has called for public awareness as soaring temperatures increase the risk of fires, stressing the importance of vigilance and preventive measures.
Expressing deep sorrow over the recent outbreaks, Üstel underlined that protecting the environment is a responsibility towards future generations. “The precautions we take and the sensitivity we show to prevent fires mean a healthier and more livable environment for our children,” he said.
He extended his gratitude to the Civil Defence Organisation, Forestry Department, Police, Fire Brigade, local authorities, search and rescue associations, Security Forces Command, Turkish Peace Forces in Cyprus, as well as all workers and volunteers who risk their lives to combat the fires.
“Their dedication is invaluable and unforgettable. It must be known that every effort in fighting fires is a breath left for the future,” Üstel concluded.
