Arıklı explained that the beach had been leased to a private company approximately 15 years ago. Initially, the piers constructed for sunbeds were operated without proper permits, later becoming legalized. With the lease expiring in 2024, the Evkaf Administration will take over operations and establish the military museum.

Arıklı stated: “Ultimately, Yavuz Landing Beach will be turned into a military museum in line with its historical significance, and the Evkaf Administration will manage it directly.”

He emphasized that prior disputes and criticisms aimed at the government and Prime Minister were unfounded. Arıklı detailed the history of the lease, the temporary licensing of piers, and the negotiations to ensure the museum would be publicly managed. Coordination between the military, the Evkaf Administration, and the government has confirmed the plan, with full implementation ongoing.

The Ministry of Ports clarified that the temporary extension of pier licenses in June occurred without knowledge of the lease expiration notice, underlining that all actions were fully legal and without any bad intent.

In conclusion, Arıklı reaffirmed: “Yavuz Landing Beach will be a military museum operated by the Evkaf Administration, in a manner fitting its historical legacy. This is now confirmed and ongoing.”
