UN Envoy Holguin’s Cyprus Visit Postponed Due to Family Emergency

United Nations Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy Maria Angela Holguin has postponed her planned visit to Cyprus due to a family emergency. The meetings, originally scheduled to begin tomorrow with President Ersin Tatar of the TRNC and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Hristodulidis, will be rescheduled to a later date.

Official notifications were sent to President Tatar and the TRNC Presidential Special Representative Güneş Onar, with Holguin expressing her apologies for the program change. The Greek Cypriot side was also informed simultaneously.

Details regarding the new dates for Holguin’s Cyprus engagements will be announced in the coming days. The visit had been expected to include separate meetings with the TRNC and Greek Cypriot leaders on Tuesday.
