School Year Begins in TRNC as 58,000 Students Return to Class
The 2025–2026 academic year has officially begun in the TRNC, with nearly 58,000 students heading back to school after the summer break.
According to the Ministry of Education, roughly 28,000 pupils are enrolled in primary schools, 25,000 in secondary schools, and about 4,000 in vocational and technical education programs.
The first term will end on Friday, January 30, 2026, followed by a mid-term break between February 1 and 15. The second term will begin on February 16, and the school year will conclude on June 15 with report cards and completion certificates distributed to students.
