Erhürman: Next Five Years Will Be ‘Education Years’

Republican Turkish Party (CTP) leader and presidential candidate Tufan Erhürman marked the start of the new school year by pledging to make education reform a top priority, promising equal opportunities, a modern curriculum, and programs to protect children from harmful addictions.

Highlighting the disparities in access to education, Erhürman noted, “Some study in expensive private schools, others in cheaper ones. Some are in public classrooms, some in prefabricated or container classrooms. Some can afford private tutoring, others cannot.”
He stressed that children must have access to modern education and meaningful leisure activities, adding that tackling screen addiction and other harmful habits would be a key focus. Special programs will be developed to address these issues, he said.
“We must modernize the education system, ensure equal opportunities, and protect our children from addiction,” Erhürman stated, pledging to dedicate the next five years to education reform. He wished students, parents, and teachers a successful school year, adding: “It is our duty to give our children better opportunities.”
