Erhürman: We’ve Wasted Five Empty Years in the Presidency

Erhürman stated, “Our children will have the same rights and opportunities as any Greek Cypriot child,” emphasizing equality and unity for all citizens.

He sharply criticized the administration, saying, “In terms of all presidential functions, we’ve spent five completely empty years. The National Security Council under the president never convened once in five years. Despite repeated calls, no population census or policy was implemented, and in some schools, non-Turkish-speaking students outnumber Turkish-speaking ones.”

Erhürman also noted failures in economic, tourism, and health advisory functions, adding that the country has become “like an open-air prison” with restricted movement for citizens.

Stressing justice and equality as top priorities, he declared: “We will never allow anyone to ignore this people. Every child on this island must have the same rights and opportunities as any Greek Cypriot child. We will not compromise on this.”

He concluded, “Discrimination based on parentage, birthplace, or family origin will never be tolerated. We will stand firmly against those who try to divide or marginalize our people and unite everyone on the principle of equality.”
