Erdoğan: Palestinian Cause Has Become a Global Issue

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has described the Palestinian cause as a global issue, congratulating countries that have recognized the State of Palestine and expressing hope that these actions will accelerate the implementation of a two-state solution.

Erdoğan made his remarks during the High-Level International Conference on Finding a Solution to the Palestinian Issue and Implementing a Two-State Solution, organized under the leadership of France and Saudi Arabia at the United Nations.
Addressing the ongoing crisis in Gaza, Erdoğan said the massacre continues with full brutality, adding that no one with a conscience can accept the violence or remain silent in the face of what he described as genocide. He criticized the Netanyahu government, stating that its aim is to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state and to force Palestinians into migration.
Highlighting the recent decision by several countries, including members of the UN Security Council, to recognize Palestine, Erdoğan called it an important and historic step. He also drew parallels between the Holocaust and the current situation, accusing the Israeli government of committing genocide against Palestinians and urging the international community to intervene.
Erdoğan emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian aid into Gaza, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces, warning that the occupation and annexation policies aim to destroy the two-state solution and exile the Palestinian people.
