Constitutional Court Annuls Disciplinary Regulation

The Constitutional Court has annulled the Disciplinary Regulation, ruling that it must be passed through Parliament, citing the Council of Ministers’ decree with the force of law. The case regarding the regulation was concluded following a hearing at the Constitutional Court.

Prior to the announcement of the verdict, members of the Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers’ Union (KTOEÖS), along with several other union representatives and citizens, marched to the courthouse under the theme “No Passage.” Demonstrators chanted “Cyprus is secular, it will remain secular” during the protest.
Slogans Exchanged Outside the Court
During the march, a separate group responded to the demonstrators by chanting “Allahu Akbar,” leading the protesters to respond with counter-slogans.
