One Kilo of Drugs Seized in ‘Ambush Operation’ in Nicosia
Police in Nicosia seized one kilogram of cannabis and arrested two people during an “Ambush Operation.”
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, at around 8:30 p.m. yesterday, officers from the Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Directorate and the Nicosia Crime Prevention Unit conducted a joint operation. During the raid, C.V.J. (M-39) and K.T. (M-22) were found in possession of one kilogram of cannabis. Both suspects were arrested.
DRUG POSSESSION ARRESTS IN KYRENIA AND ISKELE
In Kyrenia, at around 10:30 a.m. yesterday on Şehit Süleyman Uluçamgil Street, officers from the Kyrenia Crime Prevention Unit stopped U.K. (M-37) after noticing suspicious behavior. A search revealed approximately one gram of cocaine and a rolled 200 TL banknote allegedly used to consume drugs. The items were seized as evidence, and U.K. was arrested.
In İskele, at around 9:30 p.m. yesterday, Crime Prevention Unit officers searched F.T. (M-24) and U.S.S. (M-32) and their vehicle in a residential complex. Eleven grams of cannabis were found and seized as evidence. Both men were arrested.
