35 Security Officers Deployed in Schools to Ensure Safe Learning Environment
The Ministry of National Education has deployed 35 security officers to schools under the General Secondary Education and Vocational Technical Education Departments to maintain a safe and peaceful learning environment for students.
In a statement, the Ministry said, “Student safety and well-being have always been our priority.” This year marked the first tender for school security personnel, with one officer assigned to each of 35 schools across the two education departments.
The officers will operate under the principle of “Safe Education, Safe Future,” overseeing school entrances and exits, as well as surrounding areas, in accordance with Ministry standards. Security cameras will also monitor school buildings and grounds 24/7. The Ministry indicated that the number of officers may be increased in the future.
Safe School Project
The Ministry also activated the Safe School Project in cooperation with the General Police Directorate. The project includes increased inspections around school premises and additional measures to ensure the safety of students and teachers.
The Ministry emphasized: “Every child is our own. With this understanding, we continue to implement first-of-their-kind initiatives to create safe educational environments. Through security officers, camera systems, and strong partnerships, we are committed to ensuring that both teachers and students can learn and work in safety.”
