The five Greek Cypriots, accused of entering private property without permission and violating a military zone, appeared in court again today. According to a live report by Özgür Gazete, the prosecution announced during the hearing that the charges of property trespass and public disturbance against the defendants were being dropped.

The presiding judge ruled that, in line with the prosecution’s decision not to pursue the case, the five defendants should be released immediately, effectively clearing them of the accusations.

Nevertheless, two defendants, A.K. and his spouse A.K., will remain under investigation for the separate offense of violating personal data privacy. The prosecution indicated that it intends to proceed with this case and even plans to file a new related lawsuit. The court granted a brief period for procedural adjustments, and the hearing was adjourned until 21 October, with no objection from the defense.
