Speaking on Genç TV, Arıklı said, “When Süleyman Soylu comes here and goes door-to-door telling people, ‘Vote for Ersin Tatar,’ citizens will not think, ‘If Soylu says so, I’ll vote for him.’ Such nonsense must stop. The Turkish Cypriot people will cast their votes freely, according to their own will.”

Arıklı drew a comparison to the case of Mesut Özil, adding, “Someone who has never even set foot on the island cannot come and tour villages telling people how to vote—this always backfires.”

He further argued that these interventions are indirectly benefiting Tufan Erhürman, saying, “Certain groups’ efforts are adding fuel to Erhürman’s campaign. Tatar’s team or officials in Turkey do not have such a plan; in fact, these actions are outright foolish.”
