Denktaş: The Government Is Deliberately Fulfilling Its Mission to Ruin the Country and Undermine the State

In a strongly worded statement shared on social media, Denktaş said the government was not merely acting out of “incompetence or mismanagement,” but was “deliberately fulfilling its mission to destroy the country and undermine the state.”

Referring to a recent parliamentary move to nullify the declaration of independence and a Cabinet decision allowing a Turkish supermarket chain to lease land for 49 years and operate under a mere 1% customs tax, Denktaş asked, “What will happen to our own supermarkets, their employees, and the local grocers? Do you think they even care?”

He warned that such policies would have damaging effects on local businesses and workers, accusing the government of pursuing decisions that erode economic sovereignty and national integrity.
