14 Fires Result in Total Loss of 1.5 Million TL

The Police Press Office has reported that a total of 14 fires and private service incidents occurred between September 29 and October 5, causing an estimated loss of 1.5 million TL. Authorities say the incidents caused significant damage to both public and private properties across various districts.

According to the report, the main causes of the fires were identified as electrical short circuits, unattended cigarette butts, and grease residue in barbecue chimneys. The majority of the fires were concentrated in residential areas, with a few incidents affecting commercial properties.
Police have urged the public to exercise caution and adhere to fire safety measures, particularly in the wake of frequent electrical malfunctions and careless disposal of smoking materials. Officials also reminded residents to ensure proper maintenance of chimneys and heating systems to prevent further incidents.
“Every fire incident has a profound impact on the community, both economically and socially,” the statement read. “We urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any potential hazards immediately to prevent loss of life and property.”
Investigations into the causes of the fires are ongoing, and the authorities have pledged to take stricter measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
