Perople's Party (HP) leader Kudret Özersay expressed concern over the tone of political discourse during the ongoing election campaign, saying that populism has reached unprecedented levels.

In a social media post, Özersay criticized the strategies being used, noting that the approach of portraying the opposing side’s policies as sinister has made “anything permissible” in political rhetoric.

He added:

"There is no difference between the approach that even a child in Kandıra should demand a share and the approach that even a child in Kandıra should not demand a share. Unfortunately, there are still 12 days left until the election—patience is needed."

The HP leader’s remarks reflect his frustration with the escalating populism and the increasingly aggressive tone of the election campaign.
