Former Parliament Building in Nicosia to Be Converted into Museum

Plans are underway to transform the former Republic Assembly building in Nicosia into a museum.

Under the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, one section of the historic building is set to become a “Parliament Museum,” showcasing the political history of the TRNC and highlighting key moments in the development of the Assembly. Other parts of the building are planned to focus on the city’s history, cultural heritage, and archaeological findings, providing visitors with a broader perspective on Nicosia’s past.
In addition, authorities have announced that an existing museum in Varosha will undergo renovation, aiming to restore and modernize its exhibits. The combined efforts are intended to preserve the region’s historical and cultural assets while creating new educational and tourist opportunities.
