The hearing for five Greek Cypriot defendants accused of illegally crossing the military restricted zone at the Pyla Land Gate in Famagusta has been postponed to October 20 for the prosecution and defense to present their statements.

The defendants—G.G. (66), A.K. (60), A.K. (60), N.G. (63), and A.L. (68)—are facing charges of violating the military restricted area and are being tried without pretrial detention.

The defendants appeared today before Military Judge Tutku Candaş. Both the defendants and their legal representatives were present. During the next hearing, the prosecution and defense are expected to deliver their addresses.

According to the case details, G.G. allegedly entered the TRNC on July 19 around 16:00 via the Pyla Land Gate without completing immigration procedures, violating the military restricted zone. The driver, A.K., and the other passengers A.K., N.G., and A.L. were also detained at the time.
