According to the Board’s announcement No. 16, it is forbidden for any individual within or near polling stations to display symbols or signs representing candidates or political parties, or to wear or carry clothing, items, or masks in colours associated with campaign propaganda.
The YSK also outlined additional restrictions that will apply throughout election day, in accordance with the law:
“The sale, serving, or consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places and licensed venues is strictly prohibited. All entertainment venues must remain closed during voting hours. Restaurants classified as entertainment venues may only serve food. No one, except those responsible for maintaining public order and security, may carry firearms in villages, towns, or cities.”

Eight candidates, including six independents, will contest Sunday’s election to determine the next President, who will serve a five-year term.
The candidates are: Osman Zorba (Cyprus Socialist Party), Tufan Erhürman (Republican Turkish Party), Arif Salih Kırdağ (Independent), Ahmet Boran (Independent), Mehmet Hasgüler (Independent), İbrahim Yazıcı (Independent), Hüseyin Gürlek (Independent), and Ersin Tatar (Independent).
