Five Arrested in “Poison Trap” Drug Operation Across Four Cities

As part of five separate operations conducted by the Crime Prevention Branch and the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate in Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia, and İskele, authorities seized a range of illegal substances and related items.

The operation, named Poison Trap, resulted in the confiscation of:

  • 719 grams of cannabis,

  • 28 grams of cocaine,

  • 8 grams of methamphetamine,

  • 1 partially smoked cigarette containing synthetic cannabinoids mixed with tobacco,

  • 2 pieces of paper with synthetic cannabinoid residues,

  • 8 psilocybin mushrooms (magic mushrooms),

  • 2 digital scales with drug residue,

  • a grinder, scissors, and a glass pipe,

  • cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales: 12,000 TL, 20 GBP, 100 Euros, and 20 USD.

Ten individuals were arrested in connection with the operation: A.K. (49), B.K. (19), V.S. (29), A.B. (25), M.Z.H. (28), E.K. (21), O.S. (22), A.A. (34), E.M.E.S. (40), and R.M. (23). Investigations are ongoing.
