Sixth Suspect Arrested in Stavros Dimosthenus Murder Case
Authorities have arrested a sixth suspect in connection with the murder of former football club president Stavros Dimosthenus in Limassol. Dimosthenus, 49, was shot and killed while sitting in a car driven by his son, approximately 500 meters from his home, when a van in front opened fire.
Previously, five individuals had been detained in connection with the September 17 killing. Among them are a 44-year-old former footballer, two men aged 58 and 30 from the Nicosia Greek Cypriot area, a 30-year-old Greek Cypriot serving a sentence at the central prison, and a 39-year-old Greek national.
The newly arrested suspect, 51, was apprehended based on statements obtained from the prior detainees. He is expected to appear in court today for a custody hearing.
