Berova: Salary Allocations Significantly Increased for 2026 Fiscal Year
Finance Minister Özdemir Berova has responded to allegations regarding the 2026 Budget Law, stating that salary allocations for public sector employees have been significantly increased in the 2026 fiscal year. “These figures are clearly, explicitly, and indisputably included in the 2026 Budget Law,” Berova said.
In a statement shared on social media, Berova noted that the ministry, in close consultation with the State Planning Organization (DPÖ) and in line with cost-of-living projections, prepared the budget with strict adherence to the principle of fiscal prudence.
“Despite this, no one has the right to spread misinformation or create panic among our employees,” Berova said, adding that similar disinformation efforts had surfaced the previous week, including false claims that “the public treasury has not made payments to social insurance for two months.”
“Those who challenged us with promises to present ‘documents as proof’ failed to produce a single document in Parliament,” he remarked.
Berova assured that pensions paid jointly by the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Finance have been disbursed on time and will continue to be paid without delay. “Such baseless allegations only serve to disrupt public order and undermine the morale of our employees,” he concluded.
