Budget Committee to Begin 2026 Fiscal Year Discussions on 11 November
The Republic’s Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Finance, Budget and Planning will begin detailed discussions on the 2026 state budget, amounting to 191 billion TL, on 11 November, with sessions scheduled to continue until 28 November.
According to the Parliament, the 2026 Central Government Budget Bill will be reviewed article by article over 11 days. The bill, approved by the Council of Ministers and submitted to the committee, foresees expenditures of 191.1 billion TL, revenues of 165.4 billion TL, and a budget deficit of 25.7 billion TL.
The budget debate will open on Tuesday, 11 November, at 10:00 a.m. with an address by Committee Chair Resmiye Eroğlu CANALTAY, followed by a presentation from Finance Minister Özdemir Berova. After the general discussion, members will move to the article-by-article review, starting with the budgets of the Presidency and the Parliament.
On 12 November, the committee will examine the budgets of the Prime Ministry, Bayrak Radio Television Corporation (BRTK), Cyprus Foundations Administration, Department of Religious Affairs, Higher Broadcasting Council, and the Personal Data Protection Board.
The Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, and Ministry of Economy and Energy, along with affiliated institutions such as the Free Port and Zone Directorate and the Competition Board, will be reviewed on 13 November.

19 November: Judiciary, Attorney General’s Office, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.

20 November: Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Turkish Cypriot Dairy Industry Organisation (SÜTEK), Grain Products Board (TÜK), and the Agricultural Insurance Fund.

21 November: Office of the Ombudsman, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Turkish News Agency-Cyprus (TAK).

25 November: Audit Office, Public Service Commission, and Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

26 November: Police General Directorate, Security Forces Command, and Ministry of Interior.

27 November: Ministry of National Education and affiliated institutions including the Atatürk Teacher Academy (AÖA), European University of Lefke (LAÜ), and Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU).
The committee will conclude its budget marathon on 28 November with the Ministry of Finance, the Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation and Coordination Board (YÖDAK), the Interest Rate Differential Fund, and the Revenues Budget.
Once the article-by-article review is completed and the bill is approved in its entirety, it will be forwarded to the General Assembly of the Parliament for final deliberation.
