Weekly Fire Report: 19 Fires, 34 Special Rescue Incidents

Last week, the country recorded 19 fires and 34 special rescue incidents. The police reported that the fires caused a total of ₺854,500 in damage. Causes of the fires included short circuits, cigarette butts, deliberate burning by individuals, and fuel leaks in vehicles. Special rescue incidents involved saving trapped animals and people.

According to the Police Press Office, between November 3 and 9, the fires resulted in total damages of ₺854,500.

The probable causes of the fires included electrical short circuits, uncontrolled fires started by individuals, cigarette butts not fully extinguished, fires set for cleaning purposes getting out of control, malfunctioning thermostats in coffee roasting machines, fuel leaks in vehicle engines coming into contact with hot components, and chemical reactions between chlorine gas and spray paint.

During the same period, 34 special rescue incidents were carried out, including rescuing cats trapped in vehicle engines, tall trees, generators, and deep wells; saving pigeons stuck on apartment balconies; rescuing people trapped in elevators; conducting fire training; implementing fire safety measures; and transferring deceased individuals to hospitals for forensic investigation.
