İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Requests Up to 2,352 Years in Prison for Ekrem İmamoğlu

The indictment, prepared by the Organized Crime Investigation Bureau, covers a total of 402 suspects, including 105 in detention, 170 under judicial control, and 7 sought with arrest warrants. The charges involve 143 separate actions, including:

• Establishing and managing a criminal organization

• Membership in a criminal organization

• Assisting a criminal organization without being part of its hierarchy

• Bribery (giving and receiving)

• Fraud against public institutions

• Violation of tax laws

• Forgery of documents and official records

• Smuggling offenses

• Intentional environmental pollution

• Misleading the public

• Misappropriation of public property

Among the suspects, 99 are considered core members of the organization, including leaders and organizers, such as Fatih Keleş, Murat Ongun, Ertan Yıldız, Murat Gülbiharioğlu, Adem Soytekin, as well as some businesspeople, public officials, and politicians linked to the organization.

Ekrem İmamoğlu, identified as the founder and leader of the organization, is specifically charged with 142 offenses, including:

• Establishing a criminal organization with intent to commit crimes

• Bribery (12 counts)

• Money laundering (7 counts)

• Fraud against public institutions (6 counts)

• Participation in bid-rigging (5 counts)

• Forgery and concealment of official documents

• Destroying criminal evidence

• Misleading the public (3 counts)

• Illegal collection and dissemination of personal data

• Failure to report financial crimes

• Smuggling-related money laundering

• Environmental and legal violations

Investigations concerning some other suspects in the same case are ongoing.
