Aftershocks Continue Following Two Earthquakes Over Magnitude 5 in Paphos
After two earthquakes exceeding magnitude 5 struck Paphos yesterday, aftershocks have continued into last night and this morning.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported the earthquakes as having a magnitude of 5.3. Numerous aftershocks were recorded in the Paphos region following the initial tremors.
According to data from Kandilli Observatory, the latest quake registered a magnitude of 4.5. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) also confirmed a 4.5-magnitude aftershock in the Paphos area at 11:27 a.m. today. The tremor was felt across Northern Cyprus.
