Three Districts Under Tight Inspection: 620 Drivers Penalised, 19 People Arrested
Coordinated security and traffic inspections were carried out simultaneously last night in Famagusta, Kyrenia and Güzelyurt, resulting in the arrest of 19 individuals found to be residing in the country without legal status and legal action against more than 600 drivers.
The operations focused on safeguarding public order and security, with inspections conducted at entertainment venues, nightclubs, licensed alcohol establishments, coffeehouses, guesthouses, hotels, betting shops and other busy locations across the three districts.
During the security checks, police detained 19 people who were discovered to be living in the country without valid residence permits.
Traffic teams inspected 3,135 drivers, issuing legal action against 620 of them for various violations. Twenty-two vehicles were taken off the road as part of the operation.
