Erhürman: All Teams Have Been on the Ground Since Last Night, We Will Continue to Monitor Developments
President Tufan Erhürman said that following consultations with the mayors of Nicosia, Kyrenia, Gönyeli–Alayköy, Çatalköy–Esentepe, Dikmen and Güzelyurt, as well as the Director of the Meteorology Department, the Police Chief, the Civil Defence Organisation and government officials, all teams have been working on the ground with extraordinary effort since last night.
Erhürman noted that necessary measures were being taken regarding Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, and warned that heavy rainfall was expected from the afternoon until tomorrow morning, adding that authorities would provide clearer updates shortly.
He stressed that developments were being monitored moment by moment from the Presidency and extended his well wishes to all citizens affected by the rainfall, thanking all units working tirelessly in the field.
President Erhürman urged citizens to follow official announcements and recommendations, and to avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary, especially in areas and periods where rainfall is intense.
