Duran: "Turkey Will Not Leave the Turkish Cypriots Alone"
Turkey’s Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran announced that the Cyprus issue was discussed in detail during the High Advisory Board meeting, stressing that the bond between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is “unshakeable.”
Duran said the meeting, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex, reviewed recent developments in the region and the world, measures to protect the family institution, and the latest situation in Cyprus.
In a written statement, Duran noted:
“In our meeting, our national cause Cyprus was discussed thoroughly. It was emphasised that there is an unshakeable bond between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, that the TRNC has made significant progress in the fields of energy, water, health and defence, and that Turkey will never leave the Turkish Cypriots alone.”
He added that strengthening the family institution and protecting children and young people from threats such as online gambling, betting and addiction were also addressed, along with the steps taken and the steps that need to be taken.
The meeting was attended by Board members İsmail Kahraman, Mehmet Ali Şahin, Cemil Çiçek, Köksal Toptan, İsmet Yılmaz, Binali Yıldırım and Mustafa Şentop, as well as Presidential Chief of Staff Hakkı Susmaz, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran and Presidential Private Secretary Hasan Doğan.
