13th Salary Payments To Be Made On 25 And 26 December

According to the statement, retirees under the Social Insurance system will receive their 13th salaries on Thursday, 25 December. Public sector employees, public sector retirees, recipients of social assistance, families of martyrs and people with disabilities will receive their 13th salaries on Friday, 26 December.

Prime Minister Üstel said the government has never left employees, retirees, insured workers or citizens receiving social support facing uncertainty over salary payments, adding, “We will not allow this to happen in the future either.”

He argued that during his government’s term, salaries have never been subject to debates over whether they would be paid, stating that there have been no instalment-based salary payments and that the public has not been left in uncertainty.

Üstel noted that a total of 2 billion 393 million 610 thousand 438 Turkish lira has been allocated for the 13th salary payments of 47,537 retirees covered by Social Insurance, and confirmed that this amount will be deposited into accounts on 25 December.

The Prime Minister also said that salary increases in recent years have resulted in a rise in wages in foreign currency terms, describing this as “an important threshold in the history of the TRNC.” He added that with inflation easing, purchasing power is expected to recover over the course of the year.

“We will continue on our path with determination, guided by an understanding that reflects the strength of the state in its employees, retirees, those in need and all productive citizens,” Üstel said.
